Mark Pooler is the Outdoor Center Director at YMCA Camp Sloper, a Program Center of the Southington-Cheshire Community YMCAs, and has the Camp Director for the past 11 summers. Mark started his YMCA work as a Counselor-In-Training and has worked within the YMCA movement for over 15 years. Mark earned his bachelors degree in Community Recreation from Southern Connecticut State University and became a Professional YMCA Director in 1996. He holds his Senior Director Certification from the YMCA of the USA; he is a Faculty Trainer for the YMCA Day Camp Director Course and a Trainer for YMCA Program Management course. Mark is an active member of many camping and professional organizations including the Connecticut Camping Association, the American Camping Association and the Association for YMCA Professionals where he currently serves on the executive board. Mark has also been the past chairperson of the Membership and Program Network for Connecticut YMCAs. He has presented at several national YMCA conferences including the Program Expos in San Antonio and San Diego, the New England Camping Conference, and the National YMCA Camping Conference. Outside of the YMCA Mark enjoys softball, basketball, golf, hiking, running, playing guitar and hanging with his friends and family.
